Her latest album <em>Ellipse<\/em> has one of my all time favorite songs\u2014<em><strong>Earth<\/strong><\/em>. It describes how a frustrated [Mother] Earth deals with her rambunctious offspring,\u00a0<em>homo sapiens<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>These Legoland empires choking out mine\/Now you&#8217;re everywhere, everywhere multiplying around me child\/A strain on my heart\/This rock can&#8217;t tolerate anymore\/\/ [Chorus] Stop this right away\/Put that down and clean this mess up\/End of conversation\/Put your back in it and make it up to me now&#8230;<\/em> [<a href=\"http:\/\/www.biglyrics.net\/imogen_heap_lyrics\/earth.html\" target=\"_blank\">lyrics<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><em>Earth<\/em> is a polyrhythmic, polyphonic, a cappella masterpiece. [<a href=\"http:\/\/s0.ilike.com\/play#Imogen+Heap:Earth:140552123:s55454728.13424152.6845377.0.2.268%2Cstd_1159c7b79def4d1db56a53a005d9568e\" target=\"_blank\">listen<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/beemp3.com\/download.php?file=7523642&amp;song=Earth\" target=\"_blank\">2<\/a>)] This is what she does best, building up complex aural worlds using little more than her own voice (and a little help from her computer!).<\/p>\n<p>Her breakthrough hit may have been 2005&#8217;s\u00a0<em><strong>Hide and Seek<\/strong><\/em> [<a href=\"http:\/\/beemp3.com\/download.php?file=641851&amp;song=Hide+and+Seek\" target=\"_blank\">listen<\/a>], which features her processed voice with minimal accompaniment.
