When I found my car in the brightly lit parking lot, there was a large <a href=\"http:\/\/entnemdept.ufl.edu\/creatures\/misc\/moths\/luna_moth.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Luna Moth<\/strong><\/a> lying on the pavement. It moved very little and appeared to be stunned or dying. So I put it in a plastic container and took it home to photograph. Thinking back to my recent trip through the air, <strong>why in 2010 do we still have so much <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Light_pollution\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>light pollution<\/strong><\/a><strong>?<\/strong> Viewed from above those glittering towns and cities are a sign of <strong>tremendous waste!<\/strong> To be even more specific, <strong>why are ANY street lights visible from the sky?<\/strong> The picture below represents billions of watts\u00a0dissipated\u00a0with no benefit to anyone and demonstrable <a href=\"http:\/\/news.discovery.com\/animals\/light-pollution-a-growing-problem-for-wildlife.html\" target=\"_blank\">negative effects on the natural world<\/a>.
