By pure chance this was the most difficult trip yet. We started by <a href=\"http:\/\/richard.rathe.org\/everglades\/2007\/day1.html\" target=\"_blank\">navigating in the dark<\/a> on the first day. This was not as bad as it sounds and turned out to be rather pleasant. The next day started out warm and sunny, but <a href=\"http:\/\/richard.rathe.org\/everglades\/2007\/day2.html\" target=\"_blank\">the weather changed abruptly<\/a> to rain, then cold rain with a headwind. We would fight the wind several more times before the end. At one point <a href=\"http:\/\/richard.rathe.org\/everglades\/2007\/day5.html\" target=\"_blank\">we were forced off a small bay<\/a> and had to bushwack our way to the next river.
