It doesn’t get better than this! Recent outing to the Sweetwater Wetlands Park<\/a> was packed with birds, including the Limpkin<\/strong> above.\u00a0(I saw more limpkin in one hour than I’ve seen elsewhere in my entire life!) [Gallery<\/a>]<\/p>\n Here’s a stunning Anhinga<\/strong> drying his wings. (I think this\u00a0is a young male just molting into adult plumage.)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There were many Blue-Winged Teal<\/strong> on their way north mixed in with the local gallinules.<\/p>\n And the real surprise, a pair of American Bittern<\/strong>! (It’s only one of the most cryptic birds in North America.)<\/p>\n There were about a dozen Sandhill Cranes<\/strong> moving about and trumpeting.<\/p>\n Many male Red-Winged Blackbirds<\/strong> were out defending their territories.<\/p>\n And finally one of my favorites, a Pied-Billed Grebe<\/strong> having a stretch.<\/p>\n Go to the entire gallery<\/a> for more!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" It doesn’t get better than this!
